Going, Going, but not quite gone yet!
Mood:  happy
I have been having slow progress lately. BUT the good thing is, I have had progress. I am now 187.4 and have set a goal of 180 by June 2nd. I don't know if I'll make it, but I am trying.
It's been difficult for me to get any exercise in with having to take care of Russ, the kids and the house etc. I haven't made it to the gym in over a week. Today was the last day of school so I expect there will be new challenges ahead. I have been keeping fresh fruit, vegetables, and cheese sticks around for the kids and us to eat on a whim. I don't eat the Fruit, but the other stuff I can have. We had our boy's Tball party at our house which means lots of left overs! CHIPS! SODA!!! The worst part . . . MT DEW!!! BUT the worse I have done is eat 1 or 2 chips and a finger of icing! HONESTLY!!!!! The medication I have been taking doesn't seem to be affecting me physically (re: weight loss) and it doesn't seem to be doing anything for what it was prescribed for either, so I figure it'll be gone after my next appt.
Here's looking at another 7lbs to go for my Avon luncheon . . .then we'll be looking at 170 as a goal! Last year, I got down to 176 I think it was . . . so to get down to 170 would be the lowest I have been since having all THREE of my kids! (1997)
So long. TTY next time, when I have a chance to weigh in and share!

FINALLY!!!
Well, it's been a long time in coming! I finally dropped below the 190 mark. I weighed in at 189.4 this morning. I have been having trouble lately with medication and not having the ability to go to the gym etc. My husband had surgery, so I have had to come home after dropping off the kids at school. I think he'll be well enough next week for me to go. My boys finish school next wednesday, so we'll see how we do after they are home and I have to make lunch for everyone again. Shakes come in handy when I don't the time or the inclination to actually prepare food. It's just easier for me. I orderd some low carb shake mix from Avon to try. We'll see how well they work. So, I could still make it to 180 by June, with a lot of effort! Hopefully there will not be any set backs from wrong food choices!

FRUSTRATED!!!
It's Wednesday, and I am having issues! I haven't seen any progress this week, and have seen disturbing numbers on the scale!
I did have some moments of insanity on Mother's day, and I am sure it has affected my continued progress. HOWEVER, I don't think that it would be enough to cause me to gain weight over the next few days!
We went to the air show on Sat and Sund and I didn't have great food choices to make a safe decision on lunch. I am sure that has a lot to do with my lack of loss. BUT I am on a drug that I will be stepping up the dose over the next 3 weeks, that one of the side affects is weight gain! I exercised yesterday morning and my lower extremeties are swollen, also another side affect of the drug. I am not sure which caused the swelling though.
I am completely frustrated! I don't know how much I really weigh because my scale gave me 2-3 different weights! I am not stopping or giving in, just getting tired of not moving along!
HELP!

It's official!
It's official, I'm sick! I have been deteriorating for the past couple of days. Now, I have awakened with a slight sore throat and a cough! We've had the windows open in our home for the past 2 weeks and haven't had the need for air conditioning AT ALL!! NICE! But it's been a little chillier at night too, so I think the night air has gotten to me.
I did weigh myself this morning and I was pleased. I am now 192.8. That's pushing past my lowest weight I was before I ate/drank the wrong stuff. My goal was to be 190 by May, but I think I will live. NOW, I just need to push myself to get to my goal of 180 by June. I have been drinking EAS Low Carb chocolate shakes for breakfast some days, because of the limited time I have for breakfast at times. I see a bigger drop in weight when I consume them. SO, I stocked up.
I have been a little lazy with the cooking too. I had been making some great meals with the veggies and all, but I have just been so lax I scrounge for something low carb for dinner. I have to get on the ball with that.
I am seeking medical assistance with a long standing issue I have with a damaged nerve ending in my leg. It's the reason I ended my career as an Active Duty Marine in 1996. I have been given a medication that says that one of it's symptoms is WEIGHT GAIN!!!!! OMG, NO!!!!! I will have to see what it does to me. Pray it doesn't put the weight back on.

Still hangin' in there!
I have been in a slump lately. I'll admit I had a "unauthorized" meal! I ate a sandwhich with fries and a Mt Dew. I also had Chinese food AND Mexican food! OOPS!!!! Actually, I made good choices with the Mexican food and kept within my "acceptable" foods. The Chinese, who knows what had bad carbs in it and what didn't! BUT the ONE day, I got the combo at Bojangles with the Dew, I wasn't exactly trying to avoid the carbs.
All in all, I knew I had set myself back. I didn't weigh myself at all after that.
I weighed myself this afternoon, and the scale said 193.4. SO, I am pretty much stagnant, but I just outlined the reason why!
NO BIGGIE!!!! I stuck to my diet today, no faults. I actually found a low carb chocolate/toffee candy that I had a couple pieces of. It helps to get some of the stuff you crave to keep you on track.
My goal is to drop 10 pounds in May. I would like to lose more, but I will be happy if I am around 180 by June. I have a function to go to on the 3rd that I want to look good for. Alot of these people haven't seen me in a while, so this will be my chance to show them how much weight I've lost.
Well, I am still hangin' in there! Sixty three pounds and counting!

Monday has come!
Well, it wasn't so bad! I just weighed myself and I weigh 195.6. I lost weight! BUT I did have a lapse last night. It was a chocolate or sugar lapse, though. We had dinner guests and I ate corn on the cob and some potatoe dish they brought. It was yummy! I am not supposed to have either of those dishes during the induction diet, but I decided to have a little. I am glad it didn't set me back! Well, I am going to try to just weigh myself on Mondays from now on, unless I need to make sure I didn't have a set back from something I did the day before. So, now I have about 65lbs left to lose! It's going slower than I would like, but I hear slower weight loss is better for the skin sagging and preventing a bounce back with the weight later.
I do need to add more exercise though. I am definitely NOT getting enough in! OKAY, so now it's breakfast time. OMOLETTE!!!!! YUMMY! TTYL

Dreading Monday
It's Saturday evening. I am worn out from our weekly Tball games and could go to bed now and sleep until noon tomorrow. I am sticking with Atkins, but today, I didn't eat enough I don't think. I am craving something sweet, sugar free jello would be nice. I have avoided the kitchen well enough though, I think I can do without the jello tonight. I haven't weighed myself since the 197.2 entry. I started on Tuesday so I am afraid to weigh myself, quite honestly. I don't feel any change in my clothes yet, so I am not sure I have had any progress this week. I will be ok, I'll stick it out and get over the hump. I'd just rather there not be any humps!
I am thinking more and more about getting the tummy tuck when I am done. MY belly is just not going to bounce back to shape after all this. I had the c-section almost 8 years ago, and I haven't been the same since.
Ok, cross your fingers that Monday's weight shows some progress! Even if it's only a pound, I would be satisfied.

Closer and Closer
Mood:  happy
I weighed in at 197.2 this morning. I am happy to finally be past the 198 period I was stuck in for a couple of days. I attended a wedding reception this past Sat, and though I didn't veer off course with my eating plan some of my food choices could have had hidden carbs I wasn't aware of. It set me back in progress a little, but I didn't let it cause me to go after that meatball sub, or Mt Dew I used to get. I haven't exercised but maybe twice this entire diet (video or gym). I mainly just move around the house cleaning or chasing a little girl! I know that I would have lost more weight or at least toned up a little more if I had been exercising. Why then, if we all KNOW that simple fact, do we not do more of it??????
My short term goal is to get to 190 by the 1st week in May. It's possible to do without overdoing it.
Wish me Luck!

On a roll!
Mood:  happy
Today, I woke up after being on the Atkins diet for over 4 weeks now with a weight loss of just over 10lbs. I had some bumps along the way, some stressful days and a "I gotta have a Mt Dew" day! I don't know what my measurements were at the beginning, because I didn't take them, but I know them now and will keep track of it. I am excited about my weightloss with Atkins and haven't suffered at all with cravings, energy dips, NOTHING adverse after my detox from my caffeine addiction! I am . . WAS. . .addicted to Mt Dew, but I can walk right by it now! That AND chocolate. But that's what is so great about Atkins, I can still have chocolate! Not suffering the loss of all of your favorite foods is the way to go! Each day I hope to lose a 1/2 lb. I know I will have dips and surges from time to time and I dread the plateaus ahead. But I have about 68lbs to lose and can't let it get away from me any more. This weight has got to come off before I turn 38, and that's over a year away at this point in time. Wish me luck!
